Lavender Lemonade from the Memory Gardens
During times of stress, lavender is known to have calming properties and aid in better sleep. This summer the residents helped us plant herbs and edible flowers in the Memory Care gardens which we had our chef and our marketing department share in a cool lavender lemonade recipe. In our Bridges to Rediscovery Garden, we encourage residents to use and enjoy herbs and flowering edible plants in a raised bed as part of our Montessori programming. They enjoy the scented herbs and flowers, which bring back memories. We were happy to create a lavender lemonade recipe for all to enjoy during the latest 90 degree heat. We want to inspire relaxation, creativity and calm here at HeartFields in Easton. Gardening in our Bridges to Rediscovery has been a wonderful way to share the love of plants and their healing properties with our friends and families.
