People make the difference! At Aspenwood, every staff member was so friendly, helpful, and joyful while I was there for a visit!

The Aspenwood team really made a wonderful impression as two of my clinicians made a point to email me this afternoon to tell me how impressed they were.  I appreciate the red carpet you rolled out for the BAYADA team training, you certainly know how to host!  Thank you for your support, as always.

My parents moved into an assisted living apartment at Aspenwood about 10 months ago, and we have been very pleased with the community. Of primary importance, to both my parents and me, is the quality of care provided by the nursing staff (nurses and aides), and it has exceeded our expectations. Without exception, they are kind, compassionate, and very supportive - often going the extra mile. The apartments themselves were another draw for us, since, unlike other facilities we explored, the assisted living units are identical in floor plan to the independent apartments. My parents have a large 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartment with a kitchen, which makes it feel like a real home. (They get three meals a day, but it's handy to have a kitchen anyway.) Most units are 1-bedroom, but they all have kitchens, as well. The only slight negative is that the dining room service can be slow at times, but that pales in comparison to what we feel is most important - quality of care and the apartments themselves. Beyond that, they have an abundance of social activities and special holiday celebrations and usually have an outing a few times a week to local stores, providing plenty of diversions for the residents there. All in all, it's a pleasant place to be (although, truth be told, I wish my parents were 10 years younger and still independent!) I would recommend it.

Everyone is different. A place that is perfect for me might not be exactly what you are looking for when it is time for your elders to move to assisted living. Every place is not the same and what you want might not be what your parent needs. For me, and for my mother, safety, security and quality of life were at the top of our list. I, and certainly not she, was not looking for ultra fancy or lots of fun and games - we wanted comfort and quality service. And we found it at Aspenwood. The staff is exceptional - they treat my mother like their own grandmother. Day in and day out, over more than a decade, my mom has felt right at home in the safety and comfort of her own apartment home at Aspenwood. When the time is right, look at a number of facilities, in a broad variety of settings. For us, Aspenwood was perfect ten years ago and it is exactly right now that mom is nearing the end of her days. Thanks to Aspenwood's wonderful, caring staff, my mom continues to be happy and care free.

I am extremely happy with this community. My mom started out in independent living and has transferred to assisted living. Sometimes her condition stresses me out and Sharon really calms me down. She is my support person and you can tell she truly cares.
