Just a short note to say that all of the staff at The Forum were so helpful in the transition of my father, Mike Martinez, from Dallas. In particular, Pedro Martinez went out of his way to help with small and large details and he would follow up on pending items keeping us informed of progress. Very professional, pleasant and responsive. A first class moving experience for all involved.

My uncle recently moved into independent living at the Forum. What stands out the most to me so far is the homey atmosphere and how nice everyone is. Although there were some glitches when he first moved in, the staff were quick to respond to correct any problems. Pedro Martinez, the security director, has been wonderful in helping my uncle with getting his TV and phone service. Pedro is always patient and willing to help. All of the staff that we have met so far are friendly and kind and seem to really care about the residents. We're glad we chose The Forum.

Me and my wife are residents of the Forum and we have been since December. We were blown out of our home because of Hurricane Harvey. Because we could not return to our home, we spent time in hotels and motels until we found the Forum. I just wanted to express how pleased we are with the experience here from top to bottom. It is very clean and well maintained. The assistance provided here is incredible. I am in a wheelchair and they were very helpful in providing accessibility within our apartment for me. We are particularly impressed with the Director Madeline. She is creative and solves problems with efficiency. She relates to her staff and the residents. I also wanted to mention that the food service here is great. We’ve hosted some private dinners for family and they have always been helpful with the service and providing food that is very good. The valet people here are also very nice, helpful people. The entire staff provides service with a smile and we can’t thank them enough for their help.

My wife Joanna and I moved into the Forum in December, 2017 (after the storm Harvey destroyed our home). The six month grade we give to this excellent facility is an easy A. Many of the high marks we give to the Forum are attributable to its IL Director, Madeline Goldsmith; she appears available non stop to assist both residents and staff with leadership and prowess as she diagnoses and manages "impossible" and sticky situations. Recognition is also due to the food service staff which daily serves tasty and interesting menu items in a dining room atmosphere that promotes friendship and socialization. Likewise, commendation is extended to the transportation and valet service; they deliver their services in a timely manner and with exemplary attitudes. Also, the weekly housekeeping service is helpful and dependable. Entertainment and activities both inhouse and out in the community is impressive and clearly designed to appeal to differing interests. Last, but not least, we are pleased with our fellow residents, a new group of friends we are accumulating who are interesting and represent a wealth of lifetime experiences.

First one should understand the complexity of managing a retirement facility where Independent living residents average age is in the high 80's... with some disability for most of us. The staff treats us with respect and courtesy when sometimes we don't deserve it. Activities leave no one behind. The core employees have lots of experience. IMO its a tough job and burnout may be expected. Patience is a needed virtue. Living here is like an all inclusive vacation...three good meals, new friends, help and health care when you need it . A cruise ship on smooth water. Best of all unlike a ship you can get off when you want.

The quality of the Forum staff and services are wonderful. The doorman are so helpful and always greeting everyone with a kind word and smile. The transportation department under Pedro has improved measurably. This department goes out of their way to make sure accommodations are met for those needing transportation.

My mother, Lougene Fears, has been living here a little over a year. Her dementia is pretty bad, so it is hard for her to be happy. I feel that the employees at the Forum help give her the best life she can have under the circumstances. I wanted to recognize a few of the employees. The following employees have done an excellent job: Denise Collins -receptionist - my mom rarely sees her but she is responsible for getting hair appts for her, and she is a delight to the family because she is always in a good mood and is always helpful. Carmen - medication and patient care. Always happy, very respectful to my mom. Geneva - nurse. Goes out of her way to keep us informed. Very respectful to my mom. Denise - patient care. Works hard to keep patient busy and happy. Mike - laundry, cleaning. Always very kind to the patients. There are more whose names I don’t know. I said several of them were respectful and I think that is important but often lacking in dementia care. We really appreciate these folks.
