Bruce J. Mackey, Jr., 
President and Chief Executive Officer

Since 2008, Mr. Mackey has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Five Star. From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Mackey served as Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary. He was Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of FSQ from 2001 until Five Star acquired it in January 2002. Mr. Mackey is a Certified Public Accountant.


Richard A. Doyle, Jr., 
Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Vice President

Mr. Doyle has been our Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer since January 2016 and Executive Vice President since 2018. He previously served as the Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of Senior Housing Properties Trust since March 2007. Prior to that, Mr. Doyle was the Director of Financial Reporting for Five Star beginning in 2005. Mr. Doyle's former experience also includes numerous finance and audit positions with Sun Life Financial, Inc. Mr. Doyle is a Certified Public Accountant and has an MBA.


Katie Potter, 
Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Ms. Potter has been with Five Star since 2012 and serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to joining Five Star, Ms. Potter practiced law at Sullivan & Worcester LLP and Burns & Levinson LLP.
 


R. Scott Herzig, 
Senior Vice President

Mr. Herzig has been with Five Star since its inception in 2001, serving first as a Regional Director of Operations, then as Divisional Vice President for the western division. Mr. Herzig brings more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of senior healthcare and living services.


Bart Bolt, 
Divisional Vice President, Western Division

Mr. Bolt joined Five Star in 2005 as the Executive Director of The Remington Club in San Diego, California. Since then, Mr. Bolt has served as the area manager and the Regional Director of Operations for one of our western regions. In 2013, Mr. Bolt was promoted to Divisional Vice President of the western division. Mr. Bolt brings more than 20 years of successful experience in long term care to Five Star.


Steve Johnson, 
Divisional Vice President, Central Division

Mr. Johnson has served as our divisional vice president for the central division since 2007. During the prior seven years he served as Regional Director of Operations for one of our Midwest regions. Mr. Johnson has more than 30 years successful experience in all facets of senior healthcare and living services.


David Sneddon, 
Divisional Vice President, Midwest Division

Mr. Sneddon Joined Five Star in 2016 as our Divisional Vice President for the Midwest Division. Mr. Sneddon has 14 years of experience in senior living. He is licensed as a Nursing Home administrator in several states, and also holds degrees in Sociology and an MBA.

Divisional Vice President, Eastern Division

Mrs. Skirvin joined Five Star Senior Living in 2005, as Executive Director of Park Summit, in Coral Springs, Florida. Since then, Melinda Skirvin served as the Regional Director of Operations for Florida. Mrs. Skirvin was promoted to Divisional Vice President of the eastern division in 2018. Mrs. Skirvin brings more than 30 years of successful experience in all facets of senior health care and senior living services. She has a real passion for the seniors and the team members that serve them. 


Rob Poyas,
Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Mr. Poyas joined Five Star in January 2013. For 18 years, he served various sales and revenue management positions at Starwood Hotels – most recently as Vice President of Sales Administration, leading sales operations for 170 hotels within nine brands in the North American division.


Denise Kelly, 
Vice President of Ageility

Ms. Kelly has been with Five Star since 2001, and is responsible for rehabilitation operations at more than 100 locations. Prior to Five Star she was Vice President of Rehabilitation for a nation-wide skilled nursing company. She holds a degree in Occupational Therapy from Boston University, and a Masters in Management from Lesley University. Ms. Kelly has 23 years of healthcare experience including clinical work in rehabilitation hospitals, acute hospitals, private practices and home health settings.

Vice President of Clinical Services

Ms. Wheatley was with Five Star from 2000-2010 and returned in 2013 as Vice President of Clinical Services. Elizabeth has over 35 years of clinical experience in the areas of post-acute care and senior living. Elizabeth graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mass College of Pharmacy and Allied Health with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Ms. Wheatley has been a Certified Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN) for more than 30 years.


Vern D. Larkin, 
Director of Internal Audit

Mr. Larkin joined Five Star as its vice president, general counsel and secretary in September 2011 and has been the director of internal audit since 2012. Prior to joining Five Star, Mr. Larkin practiced law for more than twelve years at a large international law firm, specializing in corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and other transactional matters
