The most beautiful word.

“Thanks.”

Are you thankful? We are.

“Gratitude,” wrote the author G.K. Chesterton, “is happiness doubled by wonder." The entire team at Five Star Senior Living wishes to express our happiness—our gratitude—for the trust placed in us by over 21,000 residents living safe, happy lives in our 252 Five Star Senior Living communities. Serving people in the prime of their later lives is truly an honor, whether the desire is for Independent Living, Assisted Living or Memory Care. Whatever the need, meeting every resident where they are and bringing smiles to their faces is our passion and our joy.

And yes, this happiness is doubled! For our residents give back their gratitude, too. Not a day goes by without Five Star residents and their families writing to us and saying that precious word, the word we all long to hear, the word we never hear enough, the most beautiful word in the English language:

“Thanks.”

Here are just a few recent examples of gratitude from you to us:

“I could not ask for a more loving and supportive team. I feel blessed to have found this community.”

“We have peace of mind knowing that our loved one is here. The care they provide, communication with us though this pandemic and years of experience they have is THE BEST all around.”

“We have greatly appreciated your help for so long. The superb food truly does taste like it comes from a “Five Star restaurant!” Our kudos to the chefs! We salute you! Most important of all, our deepest gratitude to the entire staff for keeping us healthy, safe, and protected at this extremely difficult & challenging time.”

“I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful care you provided my mom over the past 15 months. She and I had always agreed we would never do assisted living, but circumstances forced our hand and it was one of the best things we ever did. My only regret was not doing it sooner.”

See what we mean?

Speaking of offering gratitude, a big thank-you to Five Star resident and etiquette guru Annie Cater for this hilarious yet authoritative video on how to conduct yourself properly.

So … when is the last time you looked someone in the eye and said, simply, “Thank you”? Don’t wait until every fourth Thursday of November. Say it to someone today. You just might find your own happiness doubled. Say thanks. It really is the most beautiful word.
