My brother has been a resident at Dominion Village at Chesapeake for one month now. The staff - from dietary, nursing, business office, maintenance, housekeeping - well, everyone has been so kind and accommodating. My brother is very happy in his new "home" and adjusted extremely well with his transition to Dominion Village because of the excellent care and friendly staff. The facility is beautiful both inside and outside with seasonal plants and decorations. It's delightful to visit. Our entire family is so blessed to know that our brother is being well taken care of by the capable, caring, and professional staff at Dominion Village.

After a distressing situation at a previous facility, we visited Dominion Village and met with Linda and Melissa. From our first meeting I had the feeling of people who truly cared about the residents in their care. I moved my mother into the Bridge side of the facility about a month ago and my mom has adjusted quickly and she’s very comfortable. From the moment we stepped into her room, we both felt she was at home. Throughout the week, I visit at different times of the day and always find the staff engaged in some activity with the residents. Being a smaller area, the residents receive the special personalized attention needed with dementia. The feeling that my mom is safe and being taken care of has given us a peace of mind.

My mother’s care needs required a special program for residents who have memory issues including Alzheimer’s type dementia. A friend recommended Dominion Village to me when it became clear that Mom’s needs were not being met at another larger, newer, albeit “fancier” facility. In fact, when I met with Linda Moore and toured this lovely little facility, I felt immediately comfortable with what I heard and saw. The staff worked tirelessly to help Mom transition to her new environs in the Bridge to Rediscovery program adeptly directed by Melissa T. Changing and challenging care needs were met with effective strategies and outside therapy services were brought in to assist as necessary. The nursing staff led by Doris G. is impressively skilled and loving. Dominion Village was Mom’s home for the last 15 months of her life. Linda’s staff did an excellent technical job caring for her while mindfully considering her dignity. Choosing a long-term care facility for a parent is inherently stressful. The reassurance and peace of mind provided to us was invaluable. I have no hesitation recommending this special little gem for their holistic approach to caring for loved ones and their families.

My father had been at dominion village almost 4 years now. He stays in the bridge side which has people with memory issues like he does. The staff here is wonderful! They really do love and care for the residents. Daddy is safe and comfortable, he thinks he works there. We couldn't keep him safe at home I am so grateful that as his condition has changed the staff has adjusted, helped us through it all so that he can get the care and attention that he needs. I visit 4-5 times a week at all hours and I always see the same thing, caring staff taking care of our Daddy and the other residents. We love dominion village!

As we've searched for an assisted living place for my aunt, Linda More has helped us with the process. She was amazing and is a fantastic ambassador for Dominion. She is the definition of a great customer service person: internally motivated to make sure every person she interacts with feels good at the end of the connection. You can’t teach this sort of thing – it’s either there or it’s not, and in Linda, this quality is there in spades. And, interestingly, I’m a qualitative researcher who has conducted many focus groups on the issue of good/poor customer service, so – beyond being a potential Dominion customer -- I know a lot about the challenges of providing stellar customer service. And so does Linda!

My mother has been a resident here for only a very short time so far; however, the staff, from the director to the nurses to maintenance, etc., have made the transition from home to assisted living an extremely smooth one. I can't think of one thing they could have done better. Mother is very happy so far and enjoys the cheerfulness and helpfulness of the staff immensely.
