On July 20th a Quilts of Valor presentation was held at Morningside of Springfield. Donna Sandidge, the coordinator of the Springfield/Robertson County area, opened with an introduction of coordinators and volunteers. Ginger Fondren, the Assistant QOV Executive Director for the State of Tennessee, reviewed the history of Quilts of Valor.

Mayor Billy Paul Corneal, by proclamation, declared September 11-17 as Assisted Living Week. He visited each resident individually thanking all of them for what they have contributed to the City of Springfield.

Staff, Residents and Caris Hospice celebrated the Anniversary of the debut of The Wizard of Oz with residents and visitors. After a brief remake to parts of the story residents watched the film. More then half of the residents had never seen the movie.
