My brother, who suffered from the early onset of Alzheimer’s, resided at Exton Senior Living for over seven and one half years. In all of that time he never expressed any dissatisfaction with the facilities or how he was treated. I live out of state so I could not visit him often but I had friends in the PA area visit him regularly and I called him at least once a week. My friends always found him to be dressed well and in a good mood. During the telephones calls I always asked him how they were treating him and how the meals are. He always responds positively. I did visit him several times over the years and on these visits, I found the facility to be clean, the food to be good and the staff to be courteous and friendly. My brother seemed to be as content as one could be under the circumstances. I consider myself very fortunate to have located Exton Senior Living. When my brother’s Doctor called and told me my brother had two major problems. The first was he had a serious heart problem and the second was the early onset of Alzheimer’s. I flew to PA and started looking for a place for him to live. I called or visited every assisted living facility in the Exton/West Chester area. As soon as I said the word “Alzheimer’s” I was advised they could not care for him or they quoted a price my brother could not afford. After three days of searching, I contacted Exton Senior Living. They agreed to visit my brother at the nursing home he was in and do an evaluation of his condition. The next day they contacted me and let me know they would accept him. I had him moved there and the rest is history. I had hoped he could live out the remainder of his life there but his condition deteriorated to the point that he needed the continuous care of a nursing home so, regretfully, I moved him to a PA Veteran’s Home. During my brother’s stay at Exton Senior Living, I interfaced with three facility Directors as well as many other staff members. They were all very professional and helpful. I do not know what I would have done without them. The most recent Director, Tracey Aungst and the memory Care Coordinator, Shawn Feeley, went out of their way to get my brother packed and ready to move. This is normally the responsibility of the residents' relatives. As I live fifteen hundred miles away, they relieved me of a great burden and I really appreciate that. When the transportation van arrived, my brother was ready to go and he was delivered to the Veterans Home in Hollidaysburg, Pa. As far as I am concerned, Exton Senior Living was a life saver for my brother and I do not know what I would have done without them. There is no way I can thank them enough for their support or give a higher recommendation for their professional services. If you ever have a loved one in need of help, I would look no further than Exton Senior Living.

My husband had to make the difficult decision to move his mom into assisted living due to memory issues. We had spoken to Sue Haines over a year prior to finally coming to terms with the decision. Sue could not have been better to work with to get to the point of finally making the move. There was zero pressure and lots of compassion. Every interaction with Sue after moving his mom in has been just as kind and caring. We also worked with Amber who actually did the paperwork to admit his mom. We felt so comfortable leaving his mom in such good hands here! It was really due to Sue and Amber that we chose this facility over others in the area. My mother in law is very happy here now (has been here a little over 5 months and it only took her about 3 weeks to get acclimated). She loves the people and raves about how nice they are and also constantly tells us how good the food is. The activities folks, Pat and Jess, take the time to encourage her to participate in the activities that she likes which some days is a challenge (due to her having days she is not so energetic) but they persevere and get her to participate as much as possible! The aides would take her for walks outside in the summer as they knew she liked walking. They quickly learned about her likes and dislikes and how to work with her to keep her engaged. Manny is one of the other management level staff who has been there for many years and tends to be our “go to” guy whenever we need something. He’s a wonderful asset to the community! Tony is the driver who also works in the kitchen and is extremely well-liked by the residents (and families). Stacie is the Business Office Manager who is also very easy to talk to and ensures things run smoothly. There’s honestly too many great staff members to note but I commend this caring team of individuals who put our minds at ease that my mother in law is in good hands when we cannot always be present. If you’re looking for a place for a loved one where you can rest-assured they are being treated like family, I highly recommend ESL.

My Dad has been at Exton Senior Living for over 4 yrs. He arrived with my Mom after her stroke with dementia and the care for her was above and beyond. The staff was compassionate, caring and always wit an upbeat, positive attitude. Mom passed 2 1/2 years ago and Dad decided to stay as he felt so at home at Exton. Even though Dad is capable to live on his own, it gives me and my family peace of mine that if Dad has any issue, it will be noticed and handled. The food is well balanced and very tasty. I highly recommend Exton Senior Living for anyone in need of senior services; Excellent care, staff, food and atmosphere.

Ginger, my mom made ESL her home for a few years. I had the pleasure of getting to know all of the staff. ESL is a wonderful community which thrives on being a family and it is! The staff is loving and caring, managements always open to conversation. Their recreational activity staff is wonderful-always providing fun activities for their residents. Food was always good. Ginger passed in August 2015 after her 91st birthday. We were lucky to be able to keep her at ESL until the end. Mom was provided gentle/loving care by the staff until the very end. Very compassionate. Everyday the staff would pop in to check on her before they left. I highly endorse ESL as a home (family) for their parents to experience. I'm glad we did.

The people who work in the BTR, without exception are the kindest most helpful people in the entire world! Our father has been in another place, which cannot compare to Exton. And, in addition everyone who works at Exton Senior Living, from food service to maintenance has been warm, welcoming, and helpful!
