The recent Devon Senior Living Chef Barbecue Challenge and Food Extravaganza was a thank-you to area first responders. More than 200 guests, including local police, fire, rescue and National Guard, enjoyed one-of-a-kind delicacies, refreshing beverages and succulent barbecue from the rivaling chefs. While the chefs outside tended to their barbecued specialties from sea scallops to beef tenderloins, the chefs inside were busy cooking up sweetbreads, pappardelle pasta, jicama salad and other taste sensations. Guests enjoyed complimentary food, activities and local wines at five stations, as well as the featured barbecue challenge and live musical entertainment.
