Westgate wins Omaha Magazine’s “Best of Omaha” in assisted living for the 8th time!

October 17, 2016

Westgate Assisted Living has done it again! Winning the Best of Omaha award for 2017 says a lot about the residents, families and staff of Westgate! It says we’re doing things the right way. We treat residents and families with the dignity and respect they deserve. Not to mention, the absolutely fantastic activities we are putting-on thru our trendsetting lifestyle360 program; our top notch dining program which is the envy of the industry, and above all else, superb care with the best care staff in the area. “When you have a management staff that averages 9 years of service here at Westgate, and 19 years each in senior living, you are starting at a very high level. Experience matters! Our care staff has vast experience as well with some that have been here for as many as 17 years,” said Executive Director Brad Buschow. “These things do not just fall into place on their own. They are part of planned excellence carried out by a great staff.”

Westgate Assisted Living Wins Quality Award!

Westgate Assisted Living Wins Quality Award!

October 17, 2016

The National Health Care Assn. and National Assisted Living Assn. (NHCA/NALA) has long been known as the healthcare industry leaders nationwide. Their presence in Nebraska guides all healthcare facilities and supports them on a variety of levels. So it comes as no surprise they would be sought out to develop a program that awards a state’s top performers. Their Awards For Excellence program in assisted living has set the standards and goals for all healthcare facilities. We are proud to announce that we have been selected to receive this prestigious award for 2016. It is with pleasure that we accept not only this award, but also accept the responsibility of being an example to all other assisted livings in our area as we continue to maintain top quality care, services and attention to our residents.

Westgate Assisted Living is Deficiency-Free!

December 30, 2015

Westgate Assisted Living is proud to announce it has received a deficiency-free survey on its Health Care Quality Survey conducted in December of 2015 by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, again! The deficiency-free rating is a result of the State’s rigorous inspection and investigation which evaluates our community for quality, safety, cleanliness, care, administration, activity programming, protection of resident rights and food quality and service. The examination included a tour of the community, review of resident’s clinical records, interviews with residents and families and a review of nursing staff for strict compliance with state regulations. With increasingly stringent regulations, achieving the deficiency-free rating is exceedingly difficult. These surveys, and the subsequent results, are a useful tool for prospective and current residents, their families and health care practitioners, to make informed choices about the quality of an assisted living facility. “It takes an interdisciplinary team effort to receive this coveted deficiency-free rating. We are extremely grateful for all of our staff’s hard work and dedication to our residents here at Westgate Assisted Living,” commented, 12 year Executive Director, Brad Buschow. “Everyone from nursing, activities, administration, maintenance, housekeeping, dining and dietary and our professional staff are responsible for these fantastic results.” Westgate Assisted Living has been the recipient of many awards and honors over the years and will celebrate 25 years of service this year. “Community of the Year Awards and seven Best of Omaha awards puts us in pretty good company,” Mr. Buschow explained, “We work hard to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each of our residents. If you are looking for your loved-one, consider Westgate Assisted living. “
