Our residents took a trip to DJ's Berry Patch and Farm in Apex to select pumpkins for our upcoming pumpkin carving contest. In years past, this annual contest has drawn some great competitors and produced some spooky and hilarious jack o-lanterns as well as generating some big laughs. The pumpkin selection process was made all the more fun this year by the owners of this great farm who took the time to personally welcome our residents and make them feel welcome. Hot apple cider and home made mini donuts were enjoyed by all as we experienced the fresh air and farm memories.

In order to help celebrate "Shades of Green" month at Morningside, residents helped decorate a bird-feeder for our community to help sustain our local bird population.

The National Assisted Living Week theme for 2016 was "Keeping Connected." In order to keep connected to nature, representatives from Asheboro Zoo came to Morningside to give residents and staff alike an exciting presentation about what it takes to successfully operate the 2.14 square acre zoo.

Congratulations to Darlene Nelson, who just celebrated her 25th work anniversary at Morningside of Raleigh, NC. Darlene is Morningside's Hospitality Director. The community celebrated her with flowers, balloons, and treats throughout her special day.
