Alzheimer’s Support Group

Tuesday May 7, 4:30 - 5:30 PM

You're invited to join the Alzheimer's Association-Western Maryland (1st Tuesday of every month) 

With over 5 million Americans facing Alzheimer’s, it’s a disease that touches us all. Join The Alzheimer’s Association - Western Maryland, and your neighbors, as we share stories, encouragement and advice on how to cope with the diagnosis. Learn about area resources, and connect with families who understand.

You’re welcome to come to our events as often as you’d like, whenever they fit your schedule. Somerford Place is proud to be your resource for advice, care and support. Newcomers welcome, light refreshments will be served and caregiving available with advanced notice.

Amazing Grace Broadway Musical Trip

Friday June 14, Departing at 9 AM; Returning at 7 PM

Join our bus trip to see Amazing Grace the Broadway Musical at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC.

Itinerary

9:00 am: Depart from community
  • We will depart Aboard an Atlantic Coast Charters Motorcoach from the parking lot of the new Walmart (10420 Walmart Dr.)

12:30 pm: Lunch will be served at the Museum

  • You can choose between The Exodus - Lamb meatballs, glazed brussel sprouts, tahini grits with butternut squash & halloumi salad & a Greek olive tapenade (nut-free, contains gluten & dairy); Or Grilled Angus Beef Burger - An all-beef burger with caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, lettuce & tomato with Manna seasoning served with a garlic aioli & a side of za’atar spiced curly fries

2:00 pm: Show begins
4:15 pm: Depart theater
5:00 pm: Depart for Hagerstown
6:00 pm: Stop at our Five Star sister community for a quick bathroom break and to pick up a boxed dinner
7:00 pm: Arrive in Hagerstown

Cost: Residents, their guests and Somerford team members - $100. All others -$120. Included in the cost: Museum admission, show tickets, snacks, lunch, dinner, and transportation via motor coach with wheelchair accessibility.

The benefits of serving can serve you now. When you or your spouse need to select a senior living community, the Veterans Administration has a program that can help. There are many choices available to you, and we can help you understand what financial options the VA offers. Join one of our sister communities for this informative seminar to learn all about the program. Our benefits expert will be on hand to discuss eligibility, the process to obtain the aid, and any other questions you may have.
