Chris has worked in the community relations industry her entire career and attributes her penchant for community service to her parents who modeled a positive ‘what goes around comes around’ philosophy.   As an ‘Army Brat,’ she carries this sense of giving back into her role as an active member of the Frederick community.  Chris has a BA degree in Communications from Slippery Rock University, where she met her husband. The couple has two grown daughters.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, genealogy, writing and being an advocate for veterans and seniors.

Robyn found her passion working with the elderly later in life and went back to school where she earned an AA in Human Services/Gerontology from FCC in 2015. She knew she wanted to enrich the lives of the senior population somehow and honor them for the incredible lives they have led. Robyn grew up in Silver Spring and moved to Frederick 10 years ago and since then, her husband, children, four dogs, and she have made it home.

Director of Food & Beverage 

John credits his 33 years of culinary experience to his love of food and a commitment to serving dinners with enthusiasm . He is a graduate of Baltimore’s International Culinary College and served 5 years as a photographer in the U.S. Navy. John fulfilled his dream of owning a restaurant for 15 years and now brings this passion for food and service to Somerford of Frederick.

Director of Resident Care – Bridge to Rediscovery

Rob has been a nurse for almost 20 years, mostly in the psychiatric field working with adults with severe mental health issues. For the last 11 years he served as Director of Nursing at a residential facility for children and adolescents with behavioral and psychiatric issues. However, his first job was working at Glade Valley Nursing Home and Rehab as a nurse on the Alzheimer’s’ unit.  This began his passion for the older population and came full circle when the disease touched his father realizing the disease does not define who a person was or is.  He loves the interaction with families and especially the residents as they remind him on a daily basis to stay humble and not take life too seriously while appreciating what’s happening in the moment”. Rob lives locally with his wife and two children.

Director of Bridge to Rediscovery  

Ashley joined the Somerford team as a caregiver in our Memory care community, then became Activity Coordinator and now is in her new role overseeing programming for all of our memory care residents. What she love most about her work is interacting with the residents, there is always so much to be done and spending time with the residents and building close relationships makes it so meaningful. She am a mother of three beautiful children and run a small Arts & Craft business. Ashley loves to paint and share new fun trendy ideas that deal with crafts. She consider herself blessed and honored to be in her new position here at Somerford.

Director of Rehab & Personal Fitness Ageility

Mandy graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004, and is dual licensed in both Maryland and Pennsylvania as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).  Additionally, Mandy holds multiple certifications in various modalities. She is the Rehabilitation Team Leader for Ageility Physical Therapy Solutions, the on-site therapy provider for Five Star Senior Living here at Somerford of Frederick.  With extensive experience working in facilities across the spectrum of senior living services, from independent living to skilled nursing, she particularly enjoys working with the geriatric population and has done so her entire career.

Business Office Manager

Robyn is originally from Texas (Go Cowboys!) but relocated to Frederick, MD in 2011 and never looked back. She says the area was such a draw for her family because of the four seasons and the close proximity to both the beach and the mountains.  Beyond that natural beauty of the area, the incredible diversity and melting pot of people is so unique and what’s not to love about a diverse nature and community. She is married to the love of her life with two children that she adores! Her passion is connecting with people and building relationship -  "my favorite thing about this job is getting to work with everyone that walks through the doors of Somerford".

Maintenance Director - Assisted Living

Josh is originally from Florida and moved to Maryland at age of 12. He has worked in the senior industry for the last several years and has a background in roofing, electrical, plumbing, and telecommunications. He also spent 3 years in a trade school. Josh and his entire immediately family work in healthcare field, and is happy to be a part of the Somerford family.

Maintenance Director - Bridge to Rediscovery

Tony has been working in the senior living industry for the past 20 years. A native of Sharpsburg, MD, Tony says that what he treasures most about this industry is getting to know the residents, the sharing of their life stories and their wisdom. He strongly believes that seniors deserve the best so he is dedicated to delivering that to them. Tony is the father of 4 grown children and currently lives in Hagerstown, MD.  In his spare time, he enjoys working on projects around his own home.
