OSHER at Heartlands - Ella Fitzgerald Lecture

Friday September 20, 1:30 - 3:00 PM

Join us in the Meeting Room as Johns Hopkins University hosts a lecture through OSHER at our Community. This lecture focuses on Ella Fitzgerald, commonly considered the greatest female vocalist in the history of jazz. Recordings, video clips, and live performances from the instructor will make this class as lively as the music itself.

"Where Does My Honey Come From?"

Saturday September 21, 10 AM

Local beekeeper Brenda Klaunberg will be joining us to present this wonderful lecture! Residents were intrigued last fall when Brenda presented a basic introduction to beekeeping and the importance of bees. We'll dive deeper into the world of Apiology as she explains where our honey comes from.

OSHER at Heartlands - The Rise of Duke Ellington Lecture

Friday September 27, 1:30 - 3:00 PM

Join lecturer Seth Kibel at Heartlands for this exciting lecture! Washington DC's most famous international export, Edward Kennedy Ellington, would rise from the most inauspicious of beginnings to become one of the greatest composers of the 20th century, in any genre of music. Recordings, video clips, and live performances from the instructor will keep this class as lively and exciting as The Duke's music itself.

Wednesday October 9, 4 - 7 PM

Celebrate Oktoberfest at Heartlands! We'll be transforming our IL Dining Room into a Beer Hall as well as having different food stalls featuring pretzels and traditional dishes. Listen to the fabulous Ron Onda on accordion and dance the polka with your friends!

Please RSVP to Lisa or Kyla if you're interested in attending (410) 461-9494.
