Thanksgiving Dinner was another great meal! The turkey was moist and really good. Everything was excellent! Good service too!

If I were a dog, I would wag my tail because: 1. My wife and I like the view of a bit of nature, green grass, trees, and birds. If we want a larger view, we watch, either from the recently built outdoor gazebo or a large window in a corner of the dining room, several species of birds eating from the filled bird feeders. Also, when we want a more serene view, we watch the fish swim, float, or sometimes just being lazy, in the large salt water aquarium. 2. As we looked for a retirement community where we could enjoy each other without cooking, shopping for groceries, washing dishes, scrubbing dirty skillets and for me, trying to be Mister-fix-it, visiting hardware stores regularly, mowing grass, raking leaves, and shoveling snow had lost their appeal. We were willing, even eager, to let someone else do tasks we had done for sixty years. Brenden Gardens was recommended by a friend we had met at church and who lived there for several years. She arranged for us to have lunch with her and to take a tour with the management. So, we DID. 3. It was hard to make friends at our last address. There, the neighbors were mostly young, strong, healthy, planning a family, waiting for the completion of their new home. For them, life was just beginning. In the Brenden Gardens neighborhood most of us are old, growing physically weaker, no longer need to provide for and raise our children. We are not beginning a lifetime of work and career, but have closed the door on the eight-to-five habit. We pray less for ourselves and more for grandchildren and great grandchildren. Yes, this is our neighborhood. Here we have made new friends and found folks much like us. Here we are not starting, but we are marching closer to ending life...but among people we chose as neighbors.

I moved into Brenden Gardens in 2015 after my husband passed, my daughter wouldn't let me go to back to the house, so I moved into Brenden Gardens as planned. it was like it was meant to be. John & Carolyn are wonderful managers & staff is also wonderful and willing to help you. I really love this place. Its very clean. I thank god that there is a place like this for seniors w/ people that really care about you. We go on trips, picnics, out to eat, movies at night. I LOVE IT HERE!

A very friendly attitude at Brenden Gardens... Helpers, housekeepers, waiters, cooks, chefs are all pleasant &"eager to please". The carpets are clean, everyday you see someone sweeping the carpet or cleaning any spots to be removed. The managers, John & Carolyn are always being helpful. At noon Carolyn tells us of the events that will take place that day or the next. Any problems or concerns they are always willing to help or solve. The food is "extra" fine! They are anxious for the food to be tasty, a varied menu given to us for the week ahead. Chrissy works diligently to furnish Brenden Gardens with "Top Notch" entertainers & entertainment, has a variety of games, movies, mystery trips, dining out, entertainers, birthday recognitions, church services & bible studies. I would say "we" are very fortunate to reside at Senior Living -- Brenden Gardens.

You will not find a better place in Springfield --even for more money! My mother-in-law really likes it and has made a lot of friends. (We almost didn't even go look at it because the cost difference was so much, we thought it might not be good.) It was the best place of all! The caring staff makes the difference. The food is good. They have homemade rolls every day at lunch. There is always something going on: activities, trips, entertainment. It is clean and housekeeping is included. Save yourself a lot of time, effort and money and go have lunch and take a tour. John and Carolyn will treat you like family. Thank goodness we went to see it!!
