It's a small community where staff members, including the Executive Director (Johnnie Cheney) know their residents by name. On a recent visit to see my Brother, Tommy, Johnnie told me exactly what he had for breakfast! Rachel Cheney, the Business Office Manager, has become a real friend to him. Ebony Madison, Resident Services Manager, with help from her Assistant, Jennifer, manage/administer his prescriptions, and have been a God send in helping me with Tommy's VA benefits. Chef John recently scored 100% on his County Inspection. The meals are so great that I asked what cookbook he used. He just pointed at his head and said it was all up there. The rooms are more like apartments, are extremely large, and even have Spa-size bathrooms. Negatives? There are none! If you tour the facility, just tell them that Tommy's Sister sent you . . .

I have been playing piano and singing with the residents for a few years now - almost every week! All the staff is friendly and helpful and love the residents. The activity director at this time of writing is Angela, and she's terrific! Always a great atmosphere and clean. One of these days I'd love to try out the food!

I was among a group of ladies who were given a tour of this community. We also had a very nice, well prepared lunch. The community was very clean and the residents seemed to be well cared for. I witnessed the warmth and care that was taken to be sure the residents were comfortable. The staff were all ready and willing to answer any questions we had.

Several years ago I had to move my sister to Georgia and put her in an assisted living facility, which I dreaded having to do. Luckily, I found Eastside Gardens. The move was made easier for me because of the great employees I dealt with, especially Johnny the Director. My sister has now been at Eastside Gardens for approximately 3 years and I continue to remain happy. Within the first year of being there she had to be moved to the memory care side where she requires full time assistance. All of the employees, including the office staff, nursing staff etc. do exceptional work. They all care and love each patient and I trust everyone with the well-being of my sister.

The move-in process of my friend was seamless. Everyone at the community knocked themselves out to make it happen as quickly as possible. My friend, who has special dietary restrictions, has been extremely happy with the food and attention to detail of the staff and caregivers. The E.D. has been wonderful to work with, always being available by phone.

I take my children to different nursing homes to do volunteer musical performances. We could not stand how the others treat their residents so we stopped going there. We have been going to Eastside Gardens for about three years and they consistently keep the place clean and pretty. They treat the residents with dignity. We ate with the residents many times so we can say they also serve "quality food."

Are you a resident of Eastside Gardens or a family member of one? We'd love to hear your thoughts about the community!
