My mom moved to Morningside of Athens in September of 2016 and it was the best & easiest decision I have ever made. From my first phone call & visit, Kim was so warm and welcoming. Our first meal there during visit was excellent! The staff is incredible & they make a point to interact with the family as well as the residents. The programs that are offered throughout the day are great and I especially love attending Bingo. You have made one of the most challenging & emotional decisions easy and comfortable for me and I can't thank you enough. I appreciate the small community and the family atmosphere. My mother is doing incredibly well under your care and we are so thankful. Morningside of Athens, you rock!!!

Visited this community in anticipation of moving my Mom to a good assisted living facility. Ended up choosing one closer to my home, but I can thoroughly recommend this community due to the happy and welcoming atmosphere. The director knew all of the residents, and they all seemed so happy. There seemed to be a wide variety of activities making it seem more like a neighborhood as opposed to a hospital.

I have been very pleased with all that is being done on a daily basis for a 91 year old friend who lives there. The staff is very kind and considerate and always treats my friend with respect. He feels at home.

Everyone on the staff has been attentive and caring, but especially Teresa and Scott. Scott took on Charter Cable/Phone for my parents internet/phone/TV issues and I am sure that is not in his job description and solved their problem, I owe a large thank you, I nor my Father had to tackle Charter, no small feat in patience. Teresa was instrumental in my Mother's securing long term health insurance. She guided my parents through the nightmare of Insurance companies red tape, lost faxes, unresponsive voicemails left to multiple agents and general unwillingness to pay and confuse elderly folks. I strongly recommend Morningside in Athens, GA.

My parents are living at Morningside, moving there after my Mom's heart condition and its side effects became too much for them to handle in an independent living situation. Teresa, the director, has been amazingly wonderful in helping them adjust to their new situation and was instrumental in getting their long term care insurance to pay for Mom's care at Morningside. She assisted my Dad, who is partially deaf, proud and stubborn, with the red tape and the tortuous application process. I am not sure what we would have done without her assistance with the forms, paperwork, and knowledge of the process. In short, I cannot say enough good things about Teresa. She has been supportive of my parents and the rest of our family since they moved in earlier this year. She is caring and persistent. She has terrific people skills, and even has won over my Dad, which is not an easy feat.

My father has been a resident for 2 ½ years. He moved in when my mom’s health and his dementia issues were too difficult for them to live at home. Shortly after, my mother passed away. My criteria to move them to Morningside was that I wanted her to be able to live her remaining days and pass away in the room that we moved her to. I did not want to move her from one room to the next because her level of care was increasing. My dad has been living there for over two years without my mom. He has dementia and needs quite a bit of attending to as well. The Five Star experience is in the individual staff members who go above their job title. Morningside has qualified employees, but there are those who reach out to my dad. He is the last of his generation. I visit when I can, but there are no relatives or friends visiting him. The employees have become his extended family. Those who take the extra minute to see that he is clean, comfortable and still leave him with his dignity are special. Debbie, the newly hired LPN has compassion for the residents which shows in her care and concern. Staff members such as Shirley, Janice, Kay, Melody, and many others who have assisted my father have all demonstrated a level of care which shows in their personal attentiveness to his needs.
