Executive Director

Rene Sanz, Jr. has been with Five Star Senior Living since 2015. With over 26 years experience in the senior living industry, Rene has served as the Executive Director of several Senior Living Communities as well as Regional Director of Operations outside of Florida. As Executive Director at Five Star Premier Residences in Hollywood, his primary responsibility is to ensure the well-being and supportive environment for nearly 400 residents. Rene’s success in meeting the goals of the community is attributed to his dedicated team of managers and staff.  He inspires his team to care deeply, live fully and serve unselfishly. Rene’s deep commitment to serving residents and families is easily demonstrated by his devotion to the community.

Assistant Executive Director

As the Assistant Executive Director Jill assesses and assists the residents with the transition into the Independent Living lifestyle and through the various levels of care offered by Five Star Premier Residence of Hollywood as their needs change.  Jill promotes a healthy, enriching environment and has an open door policy to welcome residents and family members.  Jill has over 20 years of experience working with older adults; 5 plus years with Five Star. Jill received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida International University in 1996 and she is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Sales Director

Lisa Calvet joined the team at Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood in 2005.  As Sales Director, Lisa promotes and educates older adults and their families about the benefits of senior living. Lisa manages the sales team and represents Five Star to the larger community. She also serves as a resource to community organizations on the topic of senior living, assisted living, Alzheimer's and dementia care.

Director of Facilities Management

Pedro Larrea manages maintenance and housekeeping operations at Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood. He has extensive experience in engineering and environmental services. Pedro directs the Safety Committee, promoting wellbeing for our residents and employees. He’s worked with seniors since 2001 and joined the Five Star team in 2008.

Business Office Manager

Sandra Pulice serves as the accounting liaison between the Five Star community and the corporate and regional staff.  Sandra focuses primarily on efficient resident billing combined with exceptional customer service to our residents.  Her responsibilities include maintaining resident funds, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. She has been with Five Star Senior Living since 2011.

Food and Beverage Director

Javier Rios is a Certified Executive Chef, Certified Dietary Manager and Certified Food Protection Professional. He credits a great deal of his success to having the opportunity to learn and train from elite chefs including several Master Chefs from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), both in Napa Valley, California and Hyde Park, New York. This training was part of an innovative program that taught special “Techniques of Healthy Cooking”. This program was designed to help chefs address the growing dietary and nutritional concerns of older adults while keeping food flavorful, interesting, and varied. Javier also worked with fellow Five Star chefs on a recipe index for South Florida properties. He has been with Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood for 5 years, but at this community for 20 years.

Lifestyle360 Director

David Scism oversees our Lifestyle360 program which is designed with a wide variety of resident’s interests in mind. Opportunities such as social and community involvement, participatory and spectator events, creative and educational coursework, University lecture series, Karaoke and Chorus groups, painting and horticulture clubs, book reviews, fitness and health classes to name a few. With an extensive background as a professional entertainer and Cruise Director, David uses his unique background to help create and implement lifestyle-enriching programs that contribute to each resident's whole-person wellness. David has been honored with numerous awards for his dedication to the resident experience since he joined the team at Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood in 2001.

Director of Human Resources

Lora Walters enhances both resident and employee satisfaction through oversight and management of the community's human resources function. One of Lora’s responsibilities is the recruitment of new talent and the development of our current top employees who have a passion for working with older adults. Lora also manages, organizes and coordinates the administration of human resources policies and programs. She recommends policies and practices to management and counsels and coaches’ management and staff on policy administration. Lora is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Human Resource Association of Broward County. With over 20 years of experience in the human resources field which encompass 11 years at Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood.  Lora demonstrates a positive working environment and works to improve the quality and satisfaction of our employees and residents lives.
