Making the decision to place a loved one in a nursing facility is excruciating. When it was time to consider a facility for my father, who had progressive dementia, I got several recommendations from trusted friends regarding Skyline Ridge. From the moment I called them my father received the best of care. Every single person he came into contact with was thoughtful, patient, kind, courteous and loving. I had expected excellent care; I had not expected to see daily demonstrations by the staff of truly loving their residences. It was not unusual to see a staff member hug, hold a hand, kiss the top of a head of a resident. Such caring attitudes go beyond the job description. I can honestly say that the nurses, CNAs, therapists, meal providers, laundry, maintenance and administration all did their best to ensure that my father, and every other resident, was comfortable, well provided for and definitely loved. I cannot say enough about the staff at Skyline Ridge who dedicated their lives to making sure my father was not simply taken care of, but that he felt appreciated, respected and loved every day. Not only did the staff provide my father with superior care, they made sure that when I visited my father, I was well taken care of too. The staff always asked what I needed, how could they help, what could they do to make me feel better. That is amazing. I will forever be thankful to each and every one of them for making a very tough and sad situation bearable. God bless them all.

My name is Gertrude Rupp and I live in Canon City, Colorado. I was a resident at the Skyline Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 35 days for rehab. I fell June 28, 2015 down my stairs and broke the femur in my left leg. I had surgery on the 29th and was in the hospital for 10 days. When they told me I had to go to rehab for at least 30 days. My daughter visited various places and chose Skyline Ridge. I was so glad she did as I wouldn’t have progressed like I did. The staff and all the workers from top to bottom (if there is a bottom) were just wonderful. Anything I wanted or needed they were there. The friendships I made were great, the food wonderful. I miss this as I am cooking again! The nurses were right there when I needed them. I couldn’t have gotten well so soon if it hadn’t been for my two therapists. So summing it all up if anyone needs a place to go whether it is rehab or long-term care you won’t find one to meet your needs as the Skyline Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

My family and I would like to take a moment to give our sincere thanks to the AMAZING staff of Skyline's Memory unit. Our beloved Frances Pasquale was a patient there from 2015 until her passing on 7/16/16. She had excellent care and the staff were amazing to us during her last days. Our thanks can NEVER be enough but know how much your care meant to us! Nurses Jennifer and Marty were always Mom's advocate, although all staff who cared for her were EXCELLENT!

During the past five years, my parents have entered Skyline Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center for short periods of recuperation. Recently, my father, Merton Purvis, 92, was at Skyline for a brief respite from home hospice. During his stay, his condition deteriorated. He passed away June 10. Each time, the staff and caregivers of Skyline have given my parents the best care and thoughtfulness anyone could expect. The passing of my father, while eventually expected, was handled by Skyline with utmost respect and empathy toward our family. They helped make a difficult journey one that could walk and come out with a peace that eased the first days of the rest of our lives. On behalf of my father's wife of 71 years, Marjorie, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, I thank our Skyline family who cared for him during his last days with us. Thanks for your dedication. And, most of all, thank you for the loving care you gave my father as he went to his eternal home. You will not be forgotten.
