My 92 year old mother was admitted to the Healthcare unit of the Forum at Desert Harbor with significant injuries to her arm and hip resulting from a fall at home. After a month of treatment, the medical opinion consensus was doubtful that she would never be able to recover sufficiently to walk unassisted with a walker again. It appeared that mom would have to be placed in a long term care facility, or perhaps a group home. To my delight, the staff at the Forum refused to give up on her. Crystal & Jamie kept working with mom on her physical and occupational therapy regimen, and her nurses Kim, Robert, Jackie, and Mars kept treating, encouraging, and helping her get through the difficult periods of her recovery. The ladies in activities, Pam, Carol, & TJ were successful in getting mom to enjoy and participate in activities. The many Certified Nursing Assistants caring for mom went beyond making sure that she was clean, comfortable, and safe; they were kind, friendly, and joked with her to keep her spirits up. It took nearly 7 months to rehab my mother, but she was finally able to physically and mentally function well enough to come back home to live with me. Michelle Fox runs an excellent healthcare unit that is a model for what a skilled nursing facility that is focused on the safe rehabilitation and recovery of residents should be. I am very grateful to the excellent staff and recovery program of the Forum at Desert Harbor.

In 2011, at the age of 85, my mother moved into a beautiful two-bedroom, two bath lake view independent living apartment at The Forum at Desert Harbor. She, and our entire family, loved The Forum! The food is delicious, activities are abundant, the staff is caring and personable. During that time Mom needed to use both the skilled care/rehab facility twice and recently spent several weeks in assisted living before moving her near us in North Carolina. Our experience was so favorable with The Forum (family lives 2000 miles away), we chose a sister Five Star community for her in NC. The Forum is exactly what a continuing care retirement community should be. Mom was happy and safe moving down the hall when additional care was needed. Thank you Crystal Halay and the experienced PT, rehab, and nursing teams for your loving care.

I just recently helped a family member move into the Forum, the decision was made quite quickly, so I had a small amount of hesitation. After getting to the Forum, people were friendly, a resident asked my family member to have dinner with them. Also brought us sandwich makings, fruit and cookies. I have to say I am delighted with her decision to move to the Forum.

I would like to take a moment to thank the staff at the Forum at Desert Harbor. The staff works as a team, is respectful, treats all as family and is compassionate. The staff as gone that extra mile to help our mother and we are grateful.

We moved our parents into The Forum in September 2016 after visiting numerous other Senior Living Facilities. We were so impressed with The Forum and with Jan Mahoney. Some of the other places we visited were stuffy, not so friendly and much more expensive. Jan worked with us to find the perfect apartment for my parents, she truly went above and beyond. She insisted we stay for lunch and try the food, a true testament to how good the food is. Unfortunately my dad passed away recently and after just 4 short months at The Forum I have been so impressed with the level of love, concern, and genuine sympathy shown my mom. Not just from other residents, but the staff. I have witnessed on two occasions staff hugging my mom and crying with her. They truly got to know my dad and were grieving with us. After my dad passed we had staff checking on my mom daily. Bill, head of maintenance, has been a true gem. We are moving my mom to a smaller unit and once again Jan is going above and beyond. We feel blessed that my mom will be able to stay at The Forum, we wouldn't want her anywhere else.

I lived at The Forum at Desert Harbor and then moved to a private home. As time goes by the need for more services becomes apparent. I have decided to move back to The Forum at Desert Harbor because of the services they provide and the meals are very good.
