Ms. Potter has been our President and Chief Executive Officer since 2019 and previously served as our Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary. Prior to joining Five Star in 2012, Ms. Potter practiced law at Sullivan & Worcester LLP and Burns & Levinson LLP, where she focused on corporate law matters, including securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and other transactional matters. Ms. Potter earned a Bachelor’s degree in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland at College Park, a Juris Doctorate from Syracuse University College of Law and a LLM in Banking and Financial Law from Boston University Law School.
Mr. Leer has been Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Five Star Senior Living since 2019. Prior to his position at Five Star, Mr. Leer served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Office Properties Income Trust, and held various accounting and finance positions at several Fortune 500 companies as well as the public accounting firm, Vitale, Caturano PC (predecessor to RSM). Mr. Leer received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is also a certified public accountant.
Ms. Wigglesworth is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Five Star Senior Living. Ms. Wigglesworth has held various executive roles at large organizations over the past three decades where she was responsible for operations and change management. Prior to joining Five Star, Ms. Wigglesworth held positions at International Council of Shopping Centers, Cresa and Colliers International USA.
Dr. Jindal brings a wealth of experience to the Five Star Senior Living medical team. For over a decade, she has been working with seniors as a board-certified internist, and possesses an outstanding record in numerous clinical teaching capacities. Her primary responsibilities include acting as a liaison to our Medical Directors, leading on all quality-of-care-related matters, as well as serving as our external senior living physician representative.
Ms. Cooney is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary for Five Star Senior Living. Prior to joining Five Star in 2008, Ms. Cooney practiced law for over 10 years at Boston area law firms where she focused on litigation and employment law matters. Ms. Cooney earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the College of the Holy Cross and Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School.
Ms. Clark has been our Secretary since 2008. Ms. Clark has held positions with The RMR Group LLC and its affiliated companies since 1999. Prior to that, Ms. Clark was a Partner at the law firm of Sullivan & Worcester LLP where she had a broad based real estate practice, including representing secured lenders, borrowers, joint venture partners and investors in loans and leveraged transactions.
Mr. Larkin joined Five Star as its vice president, general counsel and secretary in September 2011 and has been the director of internal audit since 2012. Prior to joining Five Star, Mr. Larkin practiced law for more than twelve years at a large international law firm, specializing in corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and other transactional matters.
Mr. Lawlor joined Five Star Senior Living in 2018, as Vice President of Human Resources. For over 20 years, he has served in various Human Resource leadership positions including as Vice President of North America within Sodexo's senior home care company. He also spent several years in the hospitality industry including 6 years as a senior HR leader with Delaware North Companies, owners of TD Garden and The Boston Bruins. Joe obtained his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School and is an attorney.
Ms. Kelly has been with Five Star since 2001, and is responsible for rehabilitation operations at more than 100 locations. Prior to Five Star she was Vice President of Rehabilitation for a nation-wide skilled nursing company. She holds a degree in Occupational Therapy from Boston University, and a Masters in Management from Lesley University. Ms. Kelly has 23 years of healthcare experience including clinical work in rehabilitation hospitals, acute hospitals, private practices and home health settings.
Ms. Wheatley was with Five Star from 2000-2010 and returned in 2013 as Vice President of Clinical Services. Elizabeth has over 35 years of clinical experience in the areas of post-acute care and senior living. Elizabeth graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mass College of Pharmacy and Allied Health with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Ms. Wheatley has been a Certified Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN) for more than 30 years.
Ms. McCormick joined Five Star in 2019 as Vice President of Resident Experience. In this role, she oversees our Culinary and Dining group, as well as Design and Construction. She brings more than 15 years of experience in client and membership services in commercial real estate and trade association management. Ms. McCormick is fluent in German, and received both her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Middlebury College.
Ms. Snow has been Chief Accounting Officer of Five Star Senior Living since 2019. Prior to her position at Five Star, Ms. Snow served as Vice President of Finance and Controller for a medical device company and has held various senior leadership accounting and finance positions in the senior living space as well as private equity and manufacturing industries. Ms. Snow began her career in “Big 4” CPA firms located in London and Boston. Ms. Snow graduated from Merrimack College Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and is a certified public accountant.
Mrs. Skirvin joined Five Star Senior Living in 2005, as Executive Director of Park Summit, in Coral Springs, Florida. Since then, Melinda Skirvin served as the Regional Director of Operations for Florida. Mrs. Skirvin was promoted to Divisional Vice President of the eastern division in 2018. Mrs. Skirvin brings more than 30 years of successful experience in all facets of senior health care and senior living services. She has a real passion for the seniors and the team members that serve them.
Ms. Abid-Wood started working with Five Star in various roles in 2010, most recently as Senior Director of the IT Project Management Office from 2017 till she took on the Chief of Staff role in April 2019. She plays a consultative and integrative role in cross-functional collaboration and strategy, oversees Corporate Communications, and heads up Five Star's Enterprise Project Management Office. Ms. Abid-Wood has twenty years of experience including strategy and technology consulting with the Exeter Group, business process analysis and project management with The RMR Group, and the establishment of a Project and Portfolio Management Office at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Williams College with degrees in Computer Science and English.
